Farmers queue up for collecting seeds and agricultural materials during the Kisan Mela organised by Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council and District Agriculture Department at Bokoliaghat, 62 km from Diphu, district headquarter of Karbi Anglong district, Assam on July 15, 2009. Half a million people in the state have been forced from their homes after flash floods inundated towns and villages, destroying property, crops and livestock. Ten of Assam's 27 districts have been affected, including Majuli island - the world's largest inhabited riverine island where around 100,000 people are believed to be marooned.
