Hit by violence

Victims take shelter at a relief camp at Maibong in North Cachar Hills district of Assam on May 12, 2009 following widespread violence in the area. Where's the bridge?

The linking road bridge of North Cachar Hills and Cachar districts is totally damaged at the border area of the two district of Assam. Several rebels groups DHD (Black Widow), DHD, NSCN (IM), NSCN (K) are active in the hilly district. Thirty persons including 12 security personnel have been killed by the Black Widow outfit in the NC Hills this year alone.
