After resumption - I

Security personnel keep vigil at the Lower Haflong Railway station in North Cachar Hills district of Assam on June 12, 2009. The suspended Lumding-Silchar goods train service resumed on June 11. Seventeen people (including security personnel) have been killed in 13 attacks by militant group DHD(J) in the hilly district this year.

Recently, the suspended council Chief Executive Member Mohit Hojai was arrested by the police for giving Rs 1 crore to militant group DHD(J) for an arms deal.

Rally for peace - III

Women from various tribal communities take part in a peace rally organised by Mahila Suraksha Mancha against the bloody violence in North Cachar Hills District at Haflong in North Cachar Hills district of Assam on June 12, 2009. Thirtyfour people have been killed and over 600 houses destroyed by miscreants in the hilly district in the last three months.

Arrested employees produced in Court

Pradip Kumar Bora and Debojit Bhuyan employees of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) were presented before district judge in the case of scandal of departmental fund of Rupess 30 lakhs on Friday in Nagaon(Assam)
