After the blast
Security force personnel and railway officials examine the damaged railway track after suspected militants triggered off a blast on the railway tracks at Nilalong, about five km from Karbi Anglong district headquarters Diphu, on May 2, 2009 around 10.45 pm. The blast damaged the engine of a train and injured its driver, police said. The engine of the BG Express, travelling from Jorhat to Guwahati, was partially damaged in the blast and the driver of the train injured. The injured man has been admitted to a nearby hospital. No passenger suffered injuries, police said. Karbi Longri National Liberation Front (KLNLF) and Dima Halam Daogah (Jewel) insurgents have been targetting railway tracks and security personnel in the Karbi Anglong and North Cachar Hills for the past one month.
